Boxing legend Marvin Hagler, the undisputed middleweight champion from 1980 to 1987, has died at age 66, his wife said Saturday.
In a posting on the famed fighter’s Facebook page, Kay G. Hagler said her husband died at the family home in New Hampshire. “I am sorry to make a very sad announcement. Today unfortunately my beloved husband Marvelous Marvin passed away unexpectedly at his home here in New Hampshire,” she wrote. “Our family requests that you respect our privacy during this difficult time.”

How about this. There is a big old black guy that hangs drinking a cup of coffee on a coffee bar in Brockton, MA at the Cumberland Farms where I get gas every day. He's definitely seen his better days. But he's a big guy with huge hands. A few weeks ago I was joking that saw a picture of Gronk with his hand over his heart during the National Anthem. Gronk's hand with glove on almost went from one side of his chest to the other. I told the guy that his hand was almost as big as Gronks.

I always say Hi, fist bump, and talk a little sports with the guy. Just this past week he told me that he used to be a boxer. His name was Tiger Moore and that he used to be Marvin Hagler's sparring mate. Just for a lark I looked him up on Google. Sure enough there's the guy (much younger and much fitter).

Brockton is a now run down city south of Boston. But it was a proud, tough, factory city once. That's when Marvin Hagler became the champ. Marvin Hagler is a mega god in Brockton. I will see mini shrines to Marvelous Marvin when I go down there on Monday. A city will be in mourning.

My worst gambling loss ever was on Hagler. His last fight with Leonard.. Pretty early in my gambling life , taught me a good lesson to be careful laying that kind of juice.
Ruined my vacation with gf in Maui ...lol. Watched the fight in some PPV venue.. Was pretty much an ass the rest of the trip..lol... I think we were done a couple months later..

At the time I thought it was cool when I got a autograph from OJ on a shirt I was wearing , before his killing spree...He was there with a group of people.

IMO Hagler beat Sugar Rae And after the fight Leonard was sucking wind could barley talk he was so gassed. When they put the mic in front of Hagler he had all his wit about him and he said fuck Vegas lol as if the scoring was bias. Hagler and Duran the ole adage pound for pound. RIP marvelous Marvin they don’t make them like they used too

Leonard pretty much ran from Hagler the entire fight. No way he wanted to go toe to toe with him. You have to at least hurt the champ to take his belt instead of being a coward.. Leonard connect more , but the punches were soft to say the least. Hagler laughed at him for most of the fight.

A few great lessons in life all found in one short story

The decision was a joke. A couple of my buddies still talk about that fight at least once a year.
